As a member of the faculty or staff in the Worcester Public Schools, thank you for all you do to support the development of young people in the City of Worcester! The Early College Worcester Program is here to enhance the supports available to WPS students in high school and beyond. We hope that this site provides the resources you need to be successful in supporting Early College Worcester students.
Early College Programs allow students to receive advanced learning opportunities including college credits towards an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree while attending high school. Hundreds of such programs exist all over the country!
In Massachusetts, Early College is an initiative coordinated by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education (DHE) and Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE) in consultation with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education (EOE).
The Early College Worcester program provides WPS students with an early start to success in college, with:

✓ Mentoring support to assure they are successful,
✓ College preparation activities,
✓ And more!
Compared to all high school students nationwide, Early College Students:
✓ Are more likely to graduate college (90% vs. 78%)
✓ Are more likely succeed in college (86% vs. 72%)
✓ Are more likely to have a college degree to open doors to their future
